Research Associate/Engineer (In Vivo & Histology)

Position Overview

The Research Associate/Engineer - In Vivo/Histology will play a key role in advancing Dimension Inx’s core platform technology and will work closely with the R&D and product development teams to execute in vivo experiments, biological assays, and histological analyses to support new therapeutic product development to improve patient lives. The ideal candidate is a technically focused scientist or engineer with a background in cell and tissue engineering, biomaterials, or regenerative medicine, thrives in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment, and has experience working on multiple and varied projects simultaneously. The position will report directly to a senior R&D team member. This role will contribute to the progression of collaborative early-stage R&D projects, the testing and development of new biomaterial and biological products, as well as various new product development projects. 

Note the anticipated start date for this position will be approximately August 1, 2025

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute in vivo experiments to support development of new therapeutic products 

  • Execute various R&D and new product development activities including but not limited to:  

  • Relevant in vivo activities, i.e., animal handling, surgical implantations, tissue collection, and bleeding 

  • Relevant biological assay execution, including blood biomarkers testing, genotyping, PCR, and ELISA 

  • Relevant histological tissue processing and histological staining (IF and IHC) 

  • Development and execution of experimental plans and reports 

  • IACUC protocol writing and execution 

  • Execute multiple R&D and new product development projects at a given time while maintaining deadlines and adhering to budget requirements 

  • Collect, analyze, and communicate technical data and results through reports and presentations 

  • Conduct literature reviews and summarize relevant literature to support information-gathering and planning for R&D studies  

  • Work closely across internal departments to evaluate and progress new technologies through the product development process 

  • Contribute to brainstorming, troubleshooting, and strategic planning for continued project progression 

  • Create and execute technical process protocols and SOPs with adherence to internal quality systems and policies 

  • Support various project-related activities as needed to ensure smooth execution and progress  

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1 – 3 years of experience or Master’s degree with 0 – 1 years of experience (may be internship/co-op) in Biology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related engineering or biological field 

  • Hands-on laboratory experience with animal research (rodents) 

  • Ability to work independently and across different teams on several projects at a given time 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with proficiencies in oral and written communication and presentation of technical information to broad audiences 

Preferred (plus) qualifications:

  • Prior experience (e.g., internship/co-op) working in a MedTech or Pharma/Biotech product-focused organization on projects related to new product development from early-stage R&D through production is a plus 

  • Experience with handling, surgical implantations, tissue collection, and bleeding is a plus 

  • Tissue and blood analysis and data interpretation is a plus 

  • Experience with histological tissue processing and histological staining is a plus 

  • Experience with microscopy (light, fluorescence), PCR, microplate readers, and ELISA are a plus 

  • Experience with in vitro cell culture techniques is a plus 

  • Exposure to project management and experience in developing products through a stage gate process or similar project milestone management system is a plus 

Salary Range

The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $65,000 to $85,000. Individual compensation offered within this range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education and skills. Dimension Inx reserves the right to modify this salary range in the future.  

This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, as well as option grants. Dimension Inx offers a comprehensive benefits package including unlimited PTO, 401(k) matching, and competitive medical/dental/vision insurance options.
